What is Perinatal Mental Health? Simplified, it is work specifically related to the process of developing a family, from fertility concerns to pregnancy and up to 2 years postpartum. It also includes care surrounding infant loss. PMH recognizes that the individuals (birthing parent) and family unit can have different experiences during the perinatal period and this technique helps individuals and families work through it all.
Do I need a referral to start therapy? Nope. Just reach out by using the information on the Contact page and let’s determine if TJC will be a good fit for your needs.
Are sessions in person? Not at this time. Sessions are being offered virtually through a HIPAA compliant, secure video platform. However, you do need to be in NC or SC to utilize our services.
Do you accept Insurance? No. We are an out of network provider with all insurance companies and can provide documentation needed to apply for reimbursement. We do not communicate with insurance companies on your behalf.
Do you prescribe medication? No. As a counselor/therapist I cannot prescribe any medications. However, I can collaborate with your primary care doctor, OB-GYN, or psychiatrist, with your written consent.
What is your cancellation policy? 48-hour notice is required for any cancellation or request to reschedule. Without notice, full session fee will be charged.
